Gel Plate Printmaking

During this workshop, participants will roll, brush, stencil, or stamp acrylic paint onto a soft gel plate. A piece of paper is pressed onto the gel plate to transfer the acrylic image onto paper. The resulting image may be left as it is, or additional layers can be applied as desired. It is a fun afternoon experimenting with layers of shapes, lines and colour.

Image Transfer on Gel Plate

During this workshop, participants will learn the technique of transferring an image from a laser copy or magazine page to a gel plate and then from the gel plate onto paper stock. The resulting image may be left as it is, or additional layers of paint can be applied as desired. These creations can be used for journaling or collage. It’s an afternoon of experimentation and learning how to use the gel printing plate in a new and exciting way. Previous experience with gel plate printing is strongly suggested. All materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring along any high quality magazine images they would like to copy.
